Who this plan is for
This plan is for you if your PTE skill scores are in the high 60s or 70s and you need the very top of the scale, especially in Speaking and Writing. You should already know every task type well; this plan is about removing small losses, not learning the format. It uses demanding per-skill targets: Listening 69, Reading 70, Writing 85 and Speaking 88. These are the minimums Australia sets for its highest English level, Superior English, and they're a useful benchmark for any "PTE 79+" goal. If an organisation has given you its own minimums, use those instead. If your scores are still in the 50s or low 60s, start with the PTE 65 guide first.
How the plan works
- Start with the quick check. It shows which skills are closest to the targets and which are furthest away. At this level, the gap is usually Speaking and Writing, not Listening and Reading.
- Five sessions a week, about 25–30 minutes each. Each session has one clear job. Tick it off when you finish; the plan remembers your place on this device.
- One lesson a week. Read it on the first day. Each lesson is about one kind of lost mark: a hesitation, a missed point in a retell, a misspelt word, a wrong click.
- Speaking gets the most time. Speaking 88 is the highest target, on a scale that ends at 90, so weeks 1, 2 and 5 are mostly speaking, and there's a speaking session in most other weeks too.
- A weekly check at the end of each week, and a full mock test in week 6.
What these targets need
- Speaking 88: smooth, steady speech with no restarts, fillers or long pauses, clear pronunciation and natural stress, in every task, including complete content in Retell Lecture and Summarize Group Discussion.
- Writing 85: essays and summaries with no spelling or grammar errors, inside the word limits every time, and Write from Dictation answers that are perfect, word for word.
- Listening 69 and Reading 70: accurate answers without guessing. In Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers and Highlight Incorrect Words, a wrong choice costs a mark, so only choose what you can prove.
An honest note about scores
PTE Academic is scored from 10 to 90 for each skill. Our practice doesn't give you a PTE score. Your plan dashboard asks you to type in your latest official PTE scores, or your scores from an official Pearson practice test, and separately shows your accuracy on our practice. Use the accuracy to see what's improving, and an official result to see where you really are. Nobody can promise a score at this level; the plan shows you where marks are lost and how to stop losing them.

Frequently asked questions
Is PTE 79 still the target for Superior English?
Only for tests taken on or before 6 August 2025, when Superior English meant 79 in each skill. For tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, the minimums are Listening 69, Reading 70, Writing 85 and Speaking 88. This plan uses the new minimums. Check the Home Affairs website for the current rules.
Is Speaking 88 realistic?
It's a very high score on a scale that ends at 90. It needs steady, fluent speech with clear pronunciation and complete content in every speaking task. Some people reach it and many find it the hardest part, which is why this plan gives speaking the most time. We never promise a score.
Does this plan give me a PTE score?
No. Our practice shows your accuracy, not a PTE score. Your dashboard asks you to type in your latest official PTE scores or your official Pearson practice-test scores, and shows them next to the targets.
I already have 79 in Listening and Reading. What should I do?
Spend those sessions on Speaking and Writing instead. Keep one short listening session a week for Write from Dictation, because it also counts towards Writing.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in your browser on this device. There's no sign-up, and nothing is sent to us. If you change devices, start the plan again there.
