Updated 2026-10-15

Unofficial practice. We wrote these questions to match the official PTE Academic task types and timings. They are not real exam questions, and points shown are practice feedback, not a PTE score. For an official estimate, use Pearson's scored practice tests.

Why it matters

Write from Dictation comes at the end of the test and counts towards both listening and writing, so it's one of the most valuable tasks to practise.

Tips

  • Write the first letters of each word on your noteboard as you listen, then type the full sentence.
  • Use grammar to fill gaps. If you missed a word, think about what the sentence needs (the, a, has been).
  • Check spelling and plurals. A missing -s is a wrong word.

Press "Play the sentence", then type what you heard. Here you can replay it, but on test day you hear it only once.
