Who this plan is for

This plan is for you if your recent OET results include C+ scores (300 to 340) and you need B (350 or more) in every sub-test. The plan aims for Listening 350, Reading 360, Writing 350 and Speaking 360, the scores Australia's health practitioner regulator sets for OET tests from 23 April 2026. That makes it suitable for anyone who needs at least 350 in each sub-test, but check the exact scores with your regulator, such as the professional board in the country where you want to register. You already know the test format. This plan is about the details that move a C+ to a B.

How the plan works

  1. Start with the quick check. It shows which sub-test needs the most work, so you know where to spend extra time.
  2. Add your official scores. The dashboard asks you to type your latest official OET scores (0 to 500) for each sub-test, and compares them with the targets below. It also shows your share of points on our practice, which is not an OET score.
  3. Five sessions a week, about 20–35 minutes each. Each session has one clear job. Tick it off when you finish; the plan remembers your place on this device.
  4. One lesson a week. Read it on day 1. It explains what a B performance does differently from a C+, with examples.
  5. New practice in every week. Listening extracts, reading texts, a letter task and role-play cards written for this plan, with explanations and model answers.
  6. A weekly check at the end of each week, and full practice in week 6.

What grade B needs

Each OET sub-test is scored from 0 to 500 in steps of 10. There's no overall grade. Grade B is 350 to 440, and C+ is 300 to 340. This plan aims for:

Sub-test Target
Listening 350
Reading 360
Writing 350
Speaking 360

Reading and Speaking targets are a little above the start of grade B, so don't aim for "just a B" in those two.

  • Listening: exact detail in Part A, and the speaker's purpose and attitude in Parts B and C.
  • Reading: speed in Part A, and inference in Parts B and C: what the writer means, not just which words match.
  • Writing: a letter with a clear purpose, only the information the reader needs, and concise, accurate sentences.
  • Speaking: the clinical communication criteria: relationship building, understanding the patient's perspective, providing structure, and gathering and giving information.

Writing and Speaking are profession-specific, so use tasks for your profession when you can. Listening and Reading are the same for everyone.

An honest note

We can't tell you your OET score. Our practice shows how many points you got on our questions, which helps you find weak areas, but only an official OET result tells you your grade. Check the exact scores your regulator or employer needs on its own website.

Frequently asked questions

What scores does this plan aim for?

Listening 350, Reading 360, Writing 350 and Speaking 360. Grade B starts at 350, so the Reading and Speaking targets are a little higher than the start of the grade. Your regulator or employer may ask for different scores, so check theirs before you book.

Will this plan tell me my OET score?

No. Our practice shows your share of points on our questions, not an OET score. The dashboard asks you to type your latest official OET scores (0 to 500), and compares those with the targets.

I'm a nurse. Is this plan for me?

Yes, the skills are the same. The writing and speaking practice includes nursing, medicine, pharmacy and physiotherapy tasks. Nurses and midwives should check the exact scores their board asks for, as they may differ from the targets in this plan.

What if my scores are below 300?

Build your general English first with our free English level test and the Complete English Course, and use the OET practice test to get used to the format. Then come back to this plan.
